Machine-stitching is where most footballs stop. Thermo bonding was the industry's answer to going further — and it has a ceiling: bonded seams delaminate under repeated impact, and eventually the ball bursts along the bond. SublimeWeld starts where thermo bonding ends. We stitch the seam the traditional way, then weld it shut over the thread. The result sits a level above both.
Thermo bonding glues panels together under heat. It holds — until the bond starts to give, and when it goes, it goes suddenly: the seam splits and the ball bursts, often mid-match. There is no thread underneath to catch the failure, because there was never any stitching to begin with.
SublimeWeld is built differently, on purpose. The panels are stitched first — the same construction that has held Sialkot's reputation for sixty years — and only then is the seam welded shut over that stitching. Two structures doing the one job. If the weld were ever to weaken, the stitch beneath it is still holding the panel closed; nothing about SublimeWeld can fail in a single instant the way a bonded seam can.

SublimeWeld™ is not a variant of thermo bonding — it does not use an adhesive bond as its seal. The weld is applied over a completed stitch, which is why it does not share thermo bonding's failure mode.
A thermo-bonded ball has one seal holding the panel shut. SublimeWeld has the stitch and the weld — defeat one, and the other is still there.
Thermo bonding fails all at once, when the bond finally gives. There is no equivalent single point on a SublimeWeld ball to give way.

Sealed seams take on no water. The ball weighs the same in the ninetieth minute as it did at kick-off.
Panels are cut to tolerance from laminated microfibre and recycled PU, with the lining layers that give the ball its touch and its memory.
The ball is closed by hand or machine first — the construction our floor has refined since 1966, giving the seam its strength and the ball its feel. Unlike thermo bonding, nothing here relies on an adhesive alone.
The stitched seam is then fused shut. The bond runs the full depth of the channel, sealing the thread inside the skin — a second, independent barrier over the first.
The finished ball is tested for sphericity, rebound, air and shape retention and water uptake against elite match criteria before it earns the mark.
