Sialkot, Pakistan · Est. 1966

Where it
all began.

Sialkot stitches most of the footballs played on earth. Sublime is the house that opened that door — and has been building the ball the world plays with ever since.

The Heritage

Not one of the houses
in Sialkot. The one
the others followed.

In 1966, Professor Amin Javed of Murray College looked at a city of artisans and saw an industry. What he built turned hand-stitching into a standard, and turned "Made in Pakistan" into a mark the world's great sporting houses would come to ask for by name.

The Ledger

Sixty years,
told in partners.

Every house that has trusted Sialkot with its ball has, at some point, come through this floor. Move along the rail.

Professor Amin Javed

It begins with a professor. Amin Javed taught at the historic Murray College in Sialkot, and in 1966 he set out to prove a conviction — that a football made in his city could stand beside anything made anywhere. He built Sublime on that single refusal: that a ball made here should ever be the second choice. Everything on this page descends from him.

The World Cup years begin

Sublime began stitching and supplying World Cup footballs, and opened its long collaboration with Molten in the same year. The Tango — the ball a generation grew up with — carried Sialkot's hand-stitching to the centre of the world game. adidas would later set its gratitude in acrylic.

A second global house

Reebok came to Sialkot, and to Sublime. The floor that had learned to build to one brand's exacting tolerance proved it could do it for another — and the city's reputation stopped being about price.

Made in Pakistan

Every match of the 1998 World Cup in France was played with a ball built in Sialkot. Pakistan had no team at that tournament, but it was in every match — and printing Made in Pakistan on the ball itself was Sublime's own innovation: a quiet insistence that the country's craft be named where the whole world could read it. PIA's inflight magazine, Humsafar, ran the story that summer under the same three words.

The contract

A contract with Nike. By now the question was no longer whether Sialkot could make an elite ball, but who Sublime would make it for.

The English house

Umbro followed a year later — a house with its own long memory of the game, and its own view of what a ball should feel like off the boot.

Into the modern era

The collaboration with Star opened the run that carries into the present — and into the research that would eventually produce SublimeWeld.

On the record

The Pakistan Sports Goods Manufacturers and Exporters Association and the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce & Industry both set it down in writing: Sublime laid the foundations for professional soccer-ball manufacturing in Sialkot to international standard, and stands among the pioneers of the global soccer-ball revolution.

Today

The seam, sealed

The hand-stitched seam was the last place a football could fail. SublimeWeld welds it shut — zero percent water uptake, and a ball that weighs the same in the ninetieth minute as it did in the first.

Standards

Built to be inspected.

The reason global houses stayed is not romance. It is that the floor could be audited, and passed.

i

UNLA-approved facilities

Sublime implemented the first UNLA-approved production facilities, developed in collaboration with the government and built to international guidelines.

ii

Lean & EHS practice

Lean manufacturing and Environment, Health & Safety discipline run through the floor — a commitment carried from the top of the house.

iii

On the record

Recognised in writing by PSGMEA and the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce & Industry as a pioneer of professional soccer-ball manufacturing.

iv

Tested, every tier

EliteBall, Matchball and ClubBall are built to FIFA's Quality Pro, Quality and Basic criteria respectively.

The Collection

The ball, and
everything around it.

Footballs and futsal across three quality standards, our own finned Street Ball, the wider ball cabinet — and a complete teamwear programme, down to the towel.

SublimeWeld™

The seam was the
weakness. So we
welded it shut.

Every football dies at the seam — until now. SublimeWeld stitches the ball, then welds the seam shut over the thread, making it nearly impossible to tear. A ball measured in seasons, not matches — that also refuses to drink in the rain.
